Crowd pressure

Wind-force tests were conducted with specially made machinery to simulate real wind force against the entire wall, testing the benefit of using REINFORCED profiles.

The tests run and certified by LabMet confirmed our expectations.

Walls built with REINFORCED profiles are 40% stronger, meaning higher walls can be built using narrower profiles.
+ 43% stronger under
crowd-pressure testing
example Construction of a 3 m high wall as per Min.Dec. 14/01/2008 in an environment susceptible to significant crowding (conference rooms, cinema, theatre, shops) with a 3 KN/m horizontal load applied 1.2 m above floor level, maximum permissible bending 1/500 with a height of 6 mm.
Conventional profile
according to UNI 11424, 2 x C99x50x06x3000 profiles are to be placed back to back every 30 cm.
Reinforced profile
given the results achieved during testing at the research institutes, we can certify that using the new reinforced profile in the specific case under test, it is possible to construct the wall with C99x50x15REINFORCEDx3000 profiles placed back to back every 40 cm.
Result
33% saving on posts and faster installation times. The economic saving from adopting reinforced profiles is considerable. In the case under test, placing posts every 40 cm instead of every 30 cm saves 33% on the structure and allows considerably faster installation, whilst guaranteeing the same mechanical strength.
Crowd-pressure tests as per Min.Dec. 14/1/2008 were run using specific equipment simulating real crowd pressure 1.2 m above floor level. They demonstrated the benefit of using reinforced profiles. The tests run and certified by the research institutes confirmed our expectations.

As the graph shows, walls built with reinforced profiles are 43% stronger than conventional walls, which translates into economic savings.

+ 40% stronger under
wind-force testing
example Construction of a 5.5 m high wall with two BA13 plasterboard slabs per side.
Conventional profile
C74x50x0.6×5500 profiles are required every 40 cm.
Reinforced profile
given the results achieved during testing at the research institutes, we can certify that using the new reinforced profile in the specific case under test, it is possible to construct the wall with C74x50x15REINFORCEDx5500 profiles every 60 cm.
Result
33% saving on posts and 20% faster installation. Placing posts as indicated above saves 33% on the cost of the structure, in addition there is no need to waste time cutting insulation material, fewer screws and less surfacing is required, resulting in 20% lower installation costs.

Certification

Fire resistance

This indicates the ability of a wall or ceiling to prevent the passage of heat, fumes and gases for a certain period of time.
