15+ years of research
In 2008 Lupato filed its first patent for the Grooved profile, the forerunner of the Reinforced profile. This major milestone was followed by a period of intense research, in which the company perfected its product and developed over 15 varieties of grooves. In 2010 Lupato won the POR FESR tender to research and develop the new RI Inclined Reinforced profile, building on the Grooved profile.
In 2017, capitalising on previous experimentation and conducting further studies, the company filed a patent for the Reinforced profile with V reinforcement, which guarantees exceptional performance in terms of both solidity and strength.
Why choose a reinforced profile?
The term “REINFORCED” is used to describe an innovative profile that delivers mechanical strength far superior to conventional profiles. It is both solid and stronger, making it advantageous. It can be used to build stronger or higher walls without reducing the gap between posts, resulting in lower costs and faster assembly times. The UNI 11424 standard, in force since September 2011, regulates and governs installation procedures. This standard ensures the necessary building certification can be issued to the customer. The certification guarantees that the plasterboard wall has a mechanical strength in compliance with current laws.LUPATO SRL, in collaboration with the research institute LabMet, has tested its wall structures built with the new patented REINFORCED profile, certifying their resistance to the stresses laid down in the standard.
Crowd pressure
Crowd-pressure tests as per Min.Dec. 14/1/2008 were run using specific equipment simulating real crowd pressure 1.2 m above floor level. They demonstrated the benefit of using REINFORCED profiles. The tests run and certified by LabMet confirmed our expectations.
Walls built with REINFORCED profiles are 43% stronger than conventional walls, which translates into economic savings.

Wind force
Wind-force tests were conducted with specially made machinery to simulate real wind force against the entire wall, testing the benefit of using REINFORCED profiles. The tests run and certified by LabMet confirmed our expectations.
Walls built with REINFORCED profiles are 40% stronger, meaning higher walls can be built using narrower profiles.
Bending
Bending tests were conducted on REINFORCED and conventional profiles to compare the two products. The results certified by LabMet were clear.
